    Leonard Robert Brightwell FZS (1889-1962) ... Mr Brightwell was an English Animal Painter / Engraver ... He was born in London in 1889 ... he attended Lambeth School of Art .... He often visited London Zoo and drew the animals ... he was made a Fellow of the Zoological Society in 1906 and became a member of the Marine Biological Association in 1922 .... Mr Brightwell was commissioned by London Zoo and the MBA to draw on their behalf ... Mr Brightwell wrote at least 19 books and illustrated for so many more

    He passed away in Cornwall in 1962
