leucistic Grey-headed Flying Fox

    a leucistic Grey-headed Flying Fox was rescued at Canungra (Gold Coast) last November amongst 300 other juvenile bats. The article below is from January and doesn't specify what the rescue was, however it was due to an extreme heatwave causing a lot of young bats to be separated from or abandoned by their mothers.

    Because the leucistic bat was suffering from sunburn (from the lack of melanin in his skin), he will be kept permanently in captivity. As of this month (August 2017) he is still at the Australian Bat Clinic.
