Once uploaded to the gallery, a photo could previously be edited and rotated. There is no longer an option to rotate the photo and so I've got quite a few photos which have been/will be deleted, and several which I won't upload. Is this a temporary issue?
I seem to remember long long ago that we could do it ourselves after a photo was uploaded (perhaps that's a false memory?) After that you could rotate the photo before uploading it but now regardless of how the photo is uploaded, it'll always come up as landscape [in my experience].
it was never possible to rotate a photo after uploading - even by jobalba. The photo would need to be rotated on your own computer before uploading. However, like devilfish, this doesn't work for me any more - even rotated and saved in the new form it still only uploads to the site in the original form. It is rather annoying. TLD, your photo above was uploaded two years ago. It would be inetresting to see if you can still upload a photo in portrait mode. There will eventually be upgrades to the gallery which will allow photos to be rotated by the user.
Saving the rotated file first does still work for me too, I have done this this year. Both saving (as a new file) in the default basic Windows photo viewer and specific photo-editing software.
I've had no difficulty uploading pictures in portrait either, and I just rotate them using Windows Photo Viewer before uploading them. e.g. this picture uploaded two days ago: http://www.zoochat.com/810/long-tailed-fiscal-nairobi-national-park-439801/
I'm going to try again with a photo some time soon, because I definitely haven't been able to do it for quite a while (whereas previously I could).
I'll try with the two attached photos, initially taken as landscape, copy saved as portrait. Works fine for me...
This landscape/portrait problem is still happening. I posted 2 photos of a Slender-snouted Crocodile in the Crocs of the World gallery, one landscape, the other portrait. The portrait one uploaded as landscape. Can't rotate it. Very frustrating! Have asked for help on this, just awaiting a reply.......
Note that rotating photos is now possible with the new version of the forum that was implemented in late October 2016.
