I believe the local news informed me today the penguin chick would be named "Oliver". Take this with a grain of salt until confirmed otherwise, I suppose.

What does this mean? The zoo is free, but parking will cost a bit if you can even find a spot.

What do you mean "that's how they get you"? It's not some sort of scam or conspiracy.

If you don't want to pay for parking take the bus or train.

A Madagascar Tree Boa has replaced the Prevost's Squirrel in the Regenstein Small Mammal-Reptile House's nocturnal hall, breaking the pattern of nocturnal mammals.

Two baby masked lapwings were born in the Bird House and are on display (I was able to photograph them).

Haven't seen or heard any news but I swear I saw a Snowy Owl chick hopping around in the enclosure right next to the bald eagles.

The McCormick Bird House now houses Snowy-Crowned Robin-Chats and Chinese Hwameis in the Free-Flight. Also, the Guam Kingfisher has returned to public viewing.
