I wondered for a moment if something had happened to Kevin Bell, but I see here that the position of executive officer and zoo director are separate, and now feel silly for not realizing it before. Interesting.
The zoo held a goodbye party this morning for their red pandas. It is a secret where they are going, for now. The Amur leopard has already left the zoo. They are allowing their cougar access to both her exhibit and the former Amur leopard exhibit before she leaves. All of the Kovler Lion House will be leaving permanently. That includes the current lions. They will be leaving in the spring. They will likely be replaced by a younger lion pair by the time the renovations are completed in about 2 to 3 years from now.
From my last visit to Lincoln Park Zoo yesterday I saw the Henkel's Leaf-tailed Geckos in a few of the old Leaf Cutter Ant Exhibits along with seeing a baby Colobus Monkey
