A Grevy’s zebra filly was born August 14: It’s a Girl! New Baby Zebra at the Lincoln Park Zoo Is Already Up and Running
You know, I really commend Lincoln Park for its growth and renovations for a long while. The Macaque and Polar Bear exhibits were a real treat since the free times I’ve gotten a chance to see them in person. Never thought I would somehow see a free cheaper zoo outshine the bigger expensive one in a million years. Here’s to hoping both continue to improve for years to come.
Anyone Know when the new lion exhibit is gonna open? Seems like construction started over a year ago.
It's expected to open sometime in 2021. I also didn't see this mentioned on here, but Caruso, the zoo's longtime male white-cheeked gibbon, was euthanized in August following a sudden disc-related problem in April that impacted his mobility. Caruso and his mate, Burma, had four offspring over the years. At 30, Caruso was one of the oldest white-cheeked gibbons in the AZA population. He'd been at Lincoln Park Zoo since 1993. RIP, losing a longtime zoo animal is always the saddest to me. They were like the original stars for the golden age of Lincoln Park.
