The zoo didn't have Goodfellow's Tree-Kangaroo by 2018 either. Afaik they left quite some years ago. ~Thylo
Hello again everyone! I really appreciate all your help in past trips of mine. I'll be in Florida for 9 days so does anyone have any suggestions for super rare mammals in captivity? Especially Moles, Shrews, Rodents or Bats. I already have a tour set up with Lubee Bat Conservancy (Southeastern Myotis) and plan to visit Naples Zoo (just to go) on my way to The Everglades. Also Peace River Wildlife Center apparently has Northern Yellow Bat and Evening Bat so I'm looking into that. @ThylacineAlive @birdsandbats @drill @TinoPup @RatioTile @Ituri @Great Argus @MonkeyBat Thanks in advance for your help!!
I know Carson Springs in Gainesville has Rusty Spotted Cat along with a few other rare/uncommon carnivores
Yes thank you! I just came across them and unfortunately they're not opened on the day I'll in the area. Like you said they have quite a unique collection in addition to the Rusty Spotted cat including Tayra, Jungle Cat, Siberian Lynx, spotted genet, striped hyena, geoffry's cat, bat-eared fox,
Oh I just remembered another rare mammal in florida, apparently Giraffe Ranch has some African Clawless Otter. I don't know if it would be worth it to see them though because the tours are pretty expensive.
I know I'm pretty late to this but I've never heard of Jungle Encounters in Ma, is it open to the public? If so I might need to check it out soon to see the Geoffroy's Cat.
They do traveling shows, with their main focus being wildcats. They also run the Belize Wild Cat Project.
They may not be rare, but are there any captive nine banded armadillos in and around the Michigan area? Many thanks
