This is an attempt to list every species on exhibit at the Sedgwick County Zoo in Wichita, Kansas during my visit on 5-27-18. I am including species for which there is a sign on each exhibit, and using the named zones on the map going in a roughly clockwise direction from the zoo entrance. This list may be of more interest to those already familiar with the zoo since I am not arranging the species by animal type. I will post each zone separately for clarity.

    ENTRANCE: (1 Exhibit)

    Caribbean Flamingo
    Greater Flamingo

That is an interesting species to pair with a King Vulture! I always wonder how odd combinations are first conceived.

The children's farm seems amazing and it has some extremely rare livestock breeds which is great. So many zoo farms keep the common breeds of livestock, yet I wish other zoos would follow SCZ's example.

Thanks so much for all the info on Sedgwick County! Their website seems to be a bit outdated so I’m glad to have this new source of information as I prepare to make my first visit there.

Thank you for this great list!

I once sent an email to the zoo asking whether they still kept Andean tinamou and Purple-throated fruitcrow but they never replied. I cannot find them on your list so I guess they are unfortunately either gone or off-show.

I did not see signs for these species, and did not see unsigned species either, their current signs in exhibits seemed accurate while their website species lists are outdated. I am pretty sure I have never seen a Purple-throated fruitcrow so I wish they had them!

That is correct, both are gone from the collection.
