Strictly 2016 news, but a male Rothschild's giraffe was born and is called EVAN, he is the 122nd giraffe born at the park.

For anyone interested in the old elephant herd that moved to France in 2003, the male Limbo has died

Triste nouvelle | Actualité | ZooParc de Beauval

It is with great sorrow that we tell you of the death of Limbo, our great male elephant, this morning (April 8th) in Beauval. Upon their arrival, the elephant sector healers discovered Limbo lying down. Despite all the efforts of the team and the attentive care of the veterinarians, Limbo died late in the morning, to our great sadness. Reviews are underway to determine the cause. A death so sudden increases the punishment of our teams, which each day joins the animals and ties them up. Their privileged relationship makes the separation painful. It was 14 years since Limbo was in Beauval, arrived with the females of the group in 2003. The healers and the veterinarians did all that was in their power but their punishment is great. All Beauval teams are associated with this immense sorrow. Thank you all for your support in this very difficult time for us. The Beauval ZooParc team

Only about 25 I think. Yeah one male offspring. Even more a shame considering the four females from Knowsley are being rehoused at Beauval as well, for the breeding programme.

Having just watched the Wednesday episode of the Animal Park Easter specials, what are the plans for the wolves? I was surprised the park's down to 3 males!

The Timber Wolves are being phased out. To be replaced by European Wolf (which are already onsite in a different enclosure) eventually

Sad to see the loss of tigress Svetli on Animal Park this morning, but enjoyed the acknowledgement of the loss of "legendary tiger keeper" Bob, and footage of him working with the animals he loved so much

This morning's Animal Park also revealed that the park now keeps Secretary bird. With a single male having arrived from The Netherlands over the winter
