Did one die or did they only import one? I thought they had imported two.

What is the likelihood of another import? Or is it a dead-end?

The keeper we spoke to on Sunday seemed hopeful they can get in another male, but it would take time.

The last series of Animal Park (BBC TV series) mentioned that they were looking to source a new male from either Australia or the United States. But obviously this won't be a quick process

Announced on social media that Saturday morning 10am there will be be an announcement on Facebook. I'm guessing it's like what other places have done and doing a virtual tour?

Embu I hope this pending announcement is not regarding the death of one of Longeat's iconic animal's for instance Spot or Sonia the Ugandan Hippo,Anne the Asian Elephant and finally Buster the former breeding Bull Sealion.

In addition to these iconic Longleat residents I hope that the announcement is not related to the passing of another synonymous Longleat resident or keeper.

Why on earth would any zoo/safari entice viewers to tune in to announce the death of one of their iconic species? Especially 2 days later? I mean come on really!!!

Embu I thought that Longleat world probably let the animal keepers greave the loss of the animal for a couple of days before the sad news being publicised. Then following a two day period I thought Longleat may gather picture's taken throughout the animal's life to create a memorial video.

Quite probably. But they wouldn't tell people when to expect the announcement for something like that, building up anticipation and attention for bad news is not a thing anyone would do.

An announcement that is foreshadowed in this way is either good news (birth, not-previously-announced arrival, live video tour etc) or something they hope to make money from/for (future event, charity campaign etc).

Someone posting a common sense answer to a Longleat announcement,it would be very strange thing to do given the current situation, ramping up the hype for a death,if thats the case I will eat my hat!

I did enjoy it. I was a little confused as to they didn't mention the Hyena though, wonder why they didn't? Also, interesting that they didn't acknowledge the deer park either.

The voice over of kate sounded like it was recorded a while ago and not specific for yesterdays video. I thought it was the recording you can get to play in your car. Might just be that its not been updated since the hyena have arrived.

The audio used was recorded a while ago. It is and has been available on the app for a while and there is audio for the Hyena.

Rest in peace Lord Bath. Sending love to all his family and friends.
