Also knowsley's elk habitat on the safari drive is a woodland enclosure despite the fact she shares it with European bison who mostly lives on the plains the single female elk there mainly occupies the woodland section

I don't believe so. I think the stud book advised or requested that they halt their breeding programme (unsure if this was due to overrepresentation of bloodlines or lack of space for surplus individuals or other reason?). I believe that since 2016ish a number of individuals have died presumably from compilabacta. In the last 15 or so years individuals I know have died are

I think lack of space, allthough stopping breeding for so long is now a risk factor in restarting breeding. Never happy with it in the first place, Covid entered and it has been extended 2+ years already, we are now 4 years down the line. They should have phased out all hybrids crossbreeds .... that is 100+ spaces

They have rehomed 4 males in the last 2 years but there are/were still quite a few males left.

She does indeed, I believe Froja is one of the oldest (if not the oldest) Elk in captivity in Europe.

I came across clips of old Animal Park this week( I believe it was the original series?) there was a section(albeit short) about the monkeys but interestingly there was buffalo in with them but I don't remember seeing buffalo in recent years of Animal Park, is there buffalo in with the monkeys now or have they moved? They looked quite docile with monkeys climbing on their backs so I'm guessing not Cape buffalo?

Domestic water buffalo. Believe they’ve been phased out.
