I am interested in seeing some older photos of this zoo, particularly the indoor buildings (like the old perching bird house, historic primate exhibits) before renovations, does anyone have any, or know of any online (I've seen what's in our gallery.) I only went to the zoo for the first time in 2013 so all my experience with the park is with modern exhibitions.
If you use Google you will find a number of old photos of Brookfield Zoo on-line; for example, see the links below:- Brookfield Zoo: Historic Photo Brookfield Zoo: Old Postcards
This Brookfield Zoo book has 128 pages of photos, including many rare, older images: https://www.amazon.ca/Brookfield-Zo...qid=1516549539&sr=8-1&keywords=brookfield+zoo If you are willing to spend a lot of money, then this history book is worthwhile: https://www.amazon.ca/Let-Lions-Roa...0&keywords=when+the+lions+roar+brookfield+zoo
Here's a great selection photos from The Chicago Tribune, from before opening day all the way to 1996. galleries.apps.chicagotribune.com/chi-130827-brookfield-zoo-history-pictures/
Tim May and pachyderm pro, thank you, I've seen these however. Snow Leopard, these look good, and I'll add them to my list if I come into some spending money. Thanks! I'm especially interested in people's own photos too, if there are any members here with older zoo pictures.
