I'm guessing they mean Francois' langur? Did they have one born at this time?

Methinks so too, interesting to see San Antonio organising an export of herps
to Moscow, surely enhancing one of the finest collections in the world.

Of course it is a mistake. Delacour's langur - to my knowledge - are limited to captivity in Vietnam only.

Lest some top secret private owner has some - which I highly doubt - given their rarity and level of protection afforded to the species there and the research effort into finding new populations of this critically endangered langur species.

Does that mean Adhama is moving to Dallas Zoo?

Yes Adhama has been selected to be the new breeding bull in Dallas. Mara and Rosie will stay on in LA without a bull. Mara has 25% known pedigree so unless they can better prove her ancestry she will not be allowed to breed again nor will Rosie. Adhama's new mate should be Boopie from Albuquerque Biological Park if all goes according to plan.

Aw, that sucks. Rosie is sure going to miss playing the "big mouth game" with her dad. Although I'm happy Adhama gets another chance to be a father.

Anyone know which species of ratsnake LA has sent out to end up at Moscow?

I would go as far as to say that there's no difference at all. They kept them in brightly-lit diurnal enclosures, which is asinine because the rats are nocturnal.

Nice to see the active roadrunner boy will get a girlfriend! I always enjoy seeing him.

It continues to annoy me that the Cape Griffon vulture aviary is visible from RotA but is not accessible from anywhere.

Was that the zoo's last wreathed hornbill?

A California condor exhibit would be big news

    - So there will be cottontops in RotA!
    - Where are the homeless koalas gonna go?
    - Very, VERY glad to know that the master plan is focusing on pedestrian pathways, as the current layout of the zoo is infuriatingly difficult to navigate.

If I remember correctly, there was some debate regarding whether RotA ever had cottontops. They were initially listed as being part of the new exhibit, but I don't think anybody on this site who visited ever saw any, including myself. There has never been any signage for them either, so I suspect they are a brand-new addition.

I did see a pair of cotton tops at the opening of the RotA. They were on exhibit for a couple of months but I don't know what happened to them

@African Grey : were they in the tapir enclosure? The forested island in the middle of that enclosure is where I heard they were supposed to be, but until now I thought they had never been there.

Yes they were in the island in the middle of the enclosure. They were quite shy and seemed a little cautious with the tapir around.

Thanks! I remembered that and notes they were both nervous and difficult to see, but haven't seen them in years now
