    I cant acces the news site (due to ban on EU users). Where are these birds originating from?

    They don't say, but probably from other unspecified accredited facilities across the US.

    On May 11th, the zoo announced they acquired (0.0.3) rock hyrax named Bunny, Coal, and Jazmyne which are now on exhibit in the Giraffe House.

    Red panda are returning to Louisville Zoo:

    Their arrival has been teased on socials, with a photo of a red panda paw.

    It will be the first time the zoo has held the species since the 1970’s.

    The new red panda is a male named Sundara:

    Louisville Zoo reveals new animal: a red panda

    Sundara is now on display in the former snowy owl exhibit near Wallaroo Walkabout. It's been renovated for its new inhabitant.

    Other 2023 News:

    On February 25th, it was announced that the zoo transferred a (1.0) mantled guereza named Leonard to the Mesker Park Zoo in Indiana.

    Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden

    On June 6th, the zoo announced that their (0.1) guanaco named Olivia passed away at age 24 due to age-related arthritis.

    On June 14th, the zoo announced that (0.0.4) black-footed ferrets were born.

    The former Hyacinth macaw enclosure was the worst exhibit I have ever seen in an accredited zoo. It was a barren cage with one branch and no enrichment and the birds' food was being visited continuously by five very large brown rats. It made me think very poorly of the facility.

    When I visited Louisville a few weeks ago, I saw a Hyacinth macaw in the Islands walk through aviary. I'm not sure if it's a temporary move, though.

    I'm pretty sure (a) hyacinth macaw(s) have been in that aviary for a while.
