To where is going the male of 14 years Nasibu, present residing Rotterdam Zoo? (Nasibu, 2007, Frankfurt, Matze x Rebecca).
He is supposed to be going to Orana Wildlife Park in New Zealand to become a new breeding male. This seems to have been delayed a few years, however, because he was originally supposed to leave in 2019. Source: Nasibu op kamers, woningruil mangabeys en franjeapen - Diergaarde Blijdorp
Female Naomi died at Beauval Zoo back in November 2020 but this event seemed to pass under my radar, rather like her transfer from La Palmyre just a few months previously to her death. (C.o.d attributed to digestive/colitis) She was the mother of males Enzo and Echo at her previous home Kolmarden in Sweden.
2.0 Thabo and Demba have moved to the Mysore Zoo in India from Germany. The last gorilla they held there was male Polo who arrived via Dublin in 1995 and died in 2014. They are now the only gorillas in India: Long wait ends as Mysuru zoo gets two male gorillas from Germany
Single male Tadao has died at Dvur Kralov zoo. Tadao was wildcaught in 1972 so around fifty years old and probably the oldest male in the EEP region. He lived with females at some stages of his life but leaves no offspring.
Tadao was last gorilla at Dvur. He was in full health and then he didn´t wake up on Sunday morning. The zoo has in midterm no plans to build a new gorilla exhibit. Space available in the current house would not warrant a new gorilla group from EEP so they will go out this species. It will be probably used to add additional room for current small chimpazee group I guess.
The Kazan Zoo has just opened its new enclosure that will house a bachelors group. The first to arrive was N'guvu, from Cabárceno, on Friday 12. https://www.instagram.com/p/CWLypARgLJy/?utm_medium=copy_link
You are welcome, the only thing they say is that the grupo will be 3 gorillas, 2 of 8 years old ( N'guvu is that age) and another one of 20 years old
I think it's because of the trip You can see him here before the trip https://www.instagram.com/p/CV5TsjhIjDI/?utm_medium=copy_link
He is much younger in the earlier photo. I suspect maybe stress from his previous living situation has caused more recent plucking before he left Spain. He would not have time to pluck that amount just during/since the time of a journey.
