I was thoroughly, thoroughly impressed by Magdeburg on 05/04/2014 and as such can highly recommend it. As it has not been visited too often by Zoochatters a full blow by blow review will be posted upon my return home. One big piece of news - although unlabelled, the collection now has Whitenosed Coati onshow!
Are the coati in the tapir enclosure? but I am not surprised that Magdeburg now keeps this species, they are really doing a good job in bringing rare species into the zoo
Striped hyena Quick question as I go through my labelling, zootierliste States Magdeburg have pure East African striped hyena and no ssp. Status, is it one of each or is there a mistake and it's 2 of one or the other? (Unless of course they have more than 2)
Only one, the male, of the 2 is a pure subspecies, the other one of unknown origin. According to zootierliste it is a wild-caught animal from Tanzania...
