Following suit on our previous threads (Birds of Paradise in captivity, Cotingas in captivity, Barbets in captivity), @Vision and I have been working on a list for another family of wonderful birds in captivity, namely Manakins.

    A couple thoughts beforehand:
    1)
Because we had to draw the line somewhere, we decided to use no information older than 5 years (so only things posted from 2012 onwards) upon making this list; we did this to keep the list as accurate and up-to-date as possible.
    2) To make this list we used information from zootierliste, zoochat, visits to the respective zoos, and occasionally other sources (facebook pages of the collections, visits of friends to the respective zoos, etc.)
    3) There are bound to be many more manakins in less-visited collections, but it is very hard to find a lot of information about them online.
    4) Anyone is more than welcome to mention things that need to be altered/updated on this list!

The Dallas world aquarium has (x,x) golden collared manakins on exhibit. The only other manakins on exhibit there now are red capped and golden headed, but that doesn't mean they don't have any others.

A very nice group, of which I have seen precisely bugger-all :) what led you to select these as the next group worthy of deeper examination?

@d1am0ndback, thanks for the update! It's a good thing to know that they don't have the blue-crowned, white-ruffed and lance-taild on show anymore. We'll try to find out if they've just went offshow or left the collection. We'll add the golden collared in the next update.

@TeaLovingDave, that's a shame! I've only seen Chiroxiphia caudata myself. The reason we selected these is quite simple; we just like them and wanted to know which species could be seen where :p

I've seen Golden-headed manakins in the Crocodile Hall during my visit to Tierpark Berlin (12/08/17) but I've also seen 2 individuals (even though zootierliste lists Zoo Berlin as having 2.2) at Zoo Berlin (10/08/17), precisely in one of the Asian (yes, Asian) aviaries of World of Birds. ;)
