In Jhapa, eastern Nepal locals have set up a mini zoo - which are effectively community forest reserves. In a recent incident several deer were killed by stray animals. The zoo was set up as a rescue facility in the Bansbari range. Link: Wildlife in mini zoo of Jhapa insecure
The Haldibari Rural Municipality Chair Rabindra Lingden and colleagues have sought funds from authorities to set up an open range zoo.
