Easy to tell the brand of most of the models, except for the more ABC species where many brands did various Very good collection!
I was just wondering where do people buy there models from any links would be very useful many thanks
Besides Amazon and Ebay, I've ordered from two other sites; Safari Ltd's site and MiniZoo. Good experiences with both. Buy Animal Figures, Dinosaur Toys & Educational Figurines | Safari Ltd MiniZoo | Australia's Animal Toy Figurine Store | Worldwide Shipping This one is on my radar but I have yet to order from them. Happy Hen Toys - Online Toy Store featuring Schleich, Papo, Brio Trains, CollectA, Safari Ltd.
Many thanks for the info tried safari site and was told they will not be posting to UK until further notice.
Well it has been quite a while since I've posted anything new on this thread, but that doesn't mean I haven't been collecting! Since the whole Covid ordeal started back in March, I have acquired nearly 60 new figures. Far more than I was originally anticipating, but oh well. But now it is time to share what I've found! A couple gems a continent apart, but both made by the talented @Kakapo! The great river horse doesn't want his photo taken. Savannah buddies A couple of mountain goats Sentry duty Night patrol A surprised Kakapo The elusive Saola The Ivory-bill lives! But a lousy photo as usual with such creatures... To be continued...
Marvelous, my dear friend! I'm glad to have contributed to your joy. The habitats are very well chosen, and what a funny idea about the ivory-bill!
Thanks! The Ivory-bill is my only "extinct" animal, and I was trying to figure out how I wanted to photograph it, and ended up deciding to make it blurry like all the other "Ivory-bill" photos from the last couple decades. Still trying to figure out how to get some oceanic type shots, should be interesting!
We looked at replacing our Papo with Safari last year. The Americans were very friendly, but the stock in Europe is supplied via Germany and priced in Euros. Their prices and the poor exchange rate made it too expensive, and they would not supply direct and price in US$. Southlands are superb quality and the Australians are great to deal with, but the models are too small for the general UK market. So - we stayed with Papo which of course is French, but not as expensive as German Safari prices... So much for Brexit!
Makes sense Safari is more expensive in Europe, which is a bummer given they have a wide line. Does Southlands do more than just Australian animals? I've only seen native species from them.
Yes - we concluded that it was Safari importing via the Eurozone, and then the poor exchange rate Euro to Sterling, which made them expensive in the UK. Southlands are just Australian animals, so far as I know. Not a wide enough range on their own for our shop, and too small to sell alongside the European makes.
@Kakapo has come through and after a half year of procrastination on my part I received this wonderful Dall's porpoise
How many Colorata fish collections are there? I'm quite interested in them and I found the reef fish, fossil fish, freshwater fish, and saltwater fish ones but I'm wondering if there's more.
All Colorata fish sets: Coral Reef Fish Deep Sea Fish Fossil Fish Freshwater Fish River Life (8 fishes and 4 amphibians) Saltwater Fish Sharks of the World Sharks of the World Deluxe
Then there is also a Deep Sea Creatures set (with no fishes). Also, some prehistoric aquatic sets in case you're interested.
So for my birthday I am going to be getting the Colorata reef fish set. When they arrive I'll review them.
