Nasty. There are a few places I have been to with miniature railways and I often wonder if the permanent way (tracks, sleepers and ballast etc,) are maintained with a given schedule. Do these miniature train drivers get any proper safety training? Does anyone regularly walk the lines to inspect for damage?
Some zoos and animal parks don't have a fenced off area and it is so easy for a child to run in front of a train, only a small train, but they can't stop quickly and can't swerve!
I work within railway engineering circles, so I notice these things and I hope this accident makes some other owners of these places address their safety set up.
