Woolly monkey Ayla has given birth to her first baby a few months ago, unfortunately she didn't care for him. He has been named Cosmo (if I remember correctly) and will be with his family as soon as possible.
Not strictly Monkey World any more but still of interest. Hsaio-Ning the Bornean orangutan born to RoRo and Tuan (both ex-Taiwan) is confirmed by Rostock Zoo to be pregnant. Fingers crossed she will look after it. I was hoping that Miri from Twycross would have the first baby in the group, however she recently moved to their other orangutan group.

There is a new Monkey Life special on Pick tonight at 6pm for their 30 year anniversay: Monkey Life Special: The Story of Monkey World
Missed this due to football, but its repeated tomorrow at 5pm (I believe) for anyone else who missed it.
Monkey World have commented on a post asking about Hsaio-Quai confirming she passed away last month. Very sad news
Sadly Ben, a Monkey World born chimp who lived in the bachelor group died one day short of his 16th birthday a couple of weeks ago. He was an magnificent-looking chimpanzee who was in his prime.
It appears two new male stump-tailed macaques arrived at the park recently. Named Toto and Freddie. Only source I can find is a single Facebook post dated 15th September. Does mention more details to come in the upcoming 'ape rescue chronicle' though.
They have been there a few months and are successfully integrated with the other macaques. On a recent visit I noticed for the very first time what the stump-tail actually looks like!
I may have seen them then! Would they have been there's in August? It is a bit strange that MW haven't really been posting news as recently. No announcement on either Hsiao-quai or the new Macaques (the fb post wasn't really an announcement).
Yes they would, apparently they've been there getting on for a year. Initially they were separate in the enclosure George (ringtail) and Mica (patas monkey) used to live in on the left hand/top side of the stumpy house. They were there when I was there in June. George and Mica now live up at the top of the park.
Ah yes, I did see George and Mica up by the Marmosets and Woollys. I may have seen them because I did see a few Stumpies that were more golden and less 'mouldy' XD looking than the rest. From that FB post they looked slightly younger than the rest. Thanks for the info
