Birth of a female spotted deer a few days ago Alos some works in the park : - refurbishment of one of the white-cheeked gibbons enclosure, - destruction of the cranes raw due to future construction of "Horizon Afrique". Also, a newspaper article indicated that with the new area the primates house will be enlarged. I don't understand what it means because, for the moment, we just know that two monkeys species will leave for new islands on the pond. So IMO it just means more space for the remaining monkeys but if there is a real enlargement of the house it would be better ! Will see in two/three years.

He is now living with a female cotton-top tamarin and all seems ok for them.

Mulhouse received six Edwards' pheasants (3,3) from other european zoos. The goal : bring them to Jurong Bird Park in Singapore for a possible release into the wild in Vietnam in some times. Very interesting move. A lot happening with Vietnam pheasant as Zoo Praha is destined to send 6 birds to Zoo Taipei sometime this year. It is good to know the ex situ population in E Asian zoos is being expanded. In addition, Zoo Hanoi maintains a breeding flock in specially built pheasant aviaries. They had at least some 8-10 adults there (around ca. 2015/16 something). Not sure if more zoos in the region have Vietnam pheasant now.
