Kewa is a 35 year old elephant cow in Tierpark Berlin. Originally she was to move with her descendants (Thuza, Pantha, Edgar) to Munich, where she would meet her eldest daughter Temi. She is now pregnant, so this ferry will not take place. However, they must move elsewhere very soon, as the Tierpark Berlin is planning a major reconstruction of the elephant house.;)

He named Otto because this was a zoo-supporter woman's last wish.

After 3 years a Linnaeus' two-toed sloth was born at the zoo, this is the second cub of Maya and Heinze. The sloth was actually born in the begining of January, but only now the zoo was able to make a picture of the newborn.

Hellabrunn starts to built an aviary for its flamingos. The park explains they try to put the same system that for pelicans (stretched nylon ropes above the birds) but it did not work.
The construction will be finished for spring 2022.

Mid-September female Snowy Owl (Bubo scandiacus) named Keiku arrived from Korkeasaari Zoo.

The Colombian black spider monkeys (Ateles fusciceps rufiventris) have gotten company of
Azara's agoutis (Dasyprocta azarae) in both their indoor and outdoor enclosures.

Sadly the self-dug sleeping cave of the meerkats collapsed in the night of 22nd of September, killing all 4 meerkats. The zoo no longer has meerkats now.

In September a King penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) hatched.

In August 2 Patagonian maras (Dolichotis patagonum) were born.

Sadly the young was euthanised, its health rapidly deteriorated.

In June the female snowy owl was killed by a predator that managed to get into the aviary, the eggs were also destroyed during this attack.

Sadly 11-year old male Fishing cat (Prionailurus viverrinus) Ratu was euthanised due to his medical condition. He arrived at the zoo last year and already suffered from various joint problems and later it was discovered that he also had a tumor.
According to ZTL Tierpark Hellabrunn exchanged males with Tiergarten Nürnberg, so I persume Ratu is that male.
