I visited the Zoo the last time about a year ago and not familiar with the newest changes, but one could imagine that it might be a confusion.

The guerezas and the ringtailed lemurs have each an walktrough enclosure on their own and the ruffed lemurs an island which can be seen from the guereza exhibit.

You can see the three different exhibits on the map of the zoo.

The Sulawesi forset turtle ( Leucocephalon yuwonoi ) is a very rare species and in Europe kept only at Münster Zoo. Here the species was first bred in 2008.
The species produce normaly only one egg each year and at Münster they are very happy that this year already a second young has hatched and a third egg is still being incubated :) .

I just uploaded approximately 55 photos from this popular German zoo, another facility that flies under the radar here on ZooChat.

What is the plan of elephant breeding? They have Alexander the bull, old cows Tefi and Kanaudi and young cows Ratna and Corny. Both had calves, but unfortunately they were dead. No further breeding is in progress? Alexander is a relatively successful breeding bull. What's the problem?

Too sad, Allwetter used to be the hope of golden cat captive population because of their success of AI in 2013.

11 dice snakes (Natrix tessellata) were born behind the scenes. These snakes will be moved to the Botanischer Garten Oldenburg (Botanic garden), which next to plants also shows endemic reptiles and amphibians. Eventually this species will be visible to the public again in Allwetterzoo, as soon as their new enclosure is finished.
