Yesterday I completed a list of what I believe is all the mammal species in my personal animal photograph collection. The collection has its share of birds, reptiles, amphibians etc, but I guessed I would be doing only the mammals for now.
Though a few things of interest; in that not necessarily every mammal of the list is what I have seen myself; even though quite a good chunk of the list is, some of the mammals were contributions of family members of mine. And adversely, there's a fairly good chance that this list does not equate even to every species of mammal I have seen in my lifetime - I was quite surprised that in my photographic collection I was unable to find any red-ruffed lemur pictures, for instance, though given that species' ubiquity in UK captivity, I've almost certainly seen one before. And of course there's the off-chance I may have misidentified one of those deer at Berlin Tierpark or I have overlooked a photo or two, but this should give a good idea of the overall thing, by and large.

Pretty sure, if you're splitting taurine domestic cattle as taurus, Zebu/Indicine cattle should be Bos indicus.

    Also, very impressive list! :)

I was thinking of making a video showing pictures of all 295 [I found two more not listed here] mammal species I have accumulated in my photographic collection over the years - I was wondering if maybe you would like to see that?

    Hello dillotest0

That's an interesting list, but I was a bit confused about the inconsistent classification used:

MONOTREMES This is generally considered to be an Order of mammals, Monotremata

    MARSUPIALS
This comprises several Orders of mammals e.g.Didelphimorphia (Opossums: 1), Dasyuromorpha (2-5) and Diprotodontia (6-20)

MONGOOSES This is a Family of the Order Carnivora

MALAGASY CARNIVORES This is a Family of the Order Carnivora

I would suggest because it isn't a scientific treatise, it is just a personal list arranged in the way that is easiest for them - and which makes perfectly good taxonomic sense anyway so it doesn't matter.

The two subspecies of Aardwolves may be distinct enough to be split into full species. See High-quality carnivoran genomes from roadkill samples enable comparative species delineation in aardwolf and bat-eared fox | eLife

The taxonomy, with some alterations here and there was largely based off Zootierliste's taxonomy - as @Chlidonias has said, I was not aiming for scrupulous taxonomy - as it is simply a list of species of mammal I have photographed.
As for the aardwolves, I have seen the paper and am of the opinion that the aardwolves do constitute 2 species in number - though I have formatted the Eastern Aardwolf as so the original species name is in brackets. I have also done the same with the two [sub]species of oncilla.
