The chance of seeing a kiwi in Antwerp is about 100 to 1 Glad to hear you had a nice trip Writhedhornbill. Welcome home!
I'll write the review after easter, and my flute exam (Grade 5, I haven't done my scales for a week!) Next year, I'd like to visit Plankendael, or Paradisio, but it does depend on where the family can take me
i have never saw a kiwi in antwerp, and i've been there about 60 times. hmm, what is exectly the difference between the red billed currasow and the wattled currasow?
The red billed, shows a greater sexual dimorphism, with the male being black and having a red bill, and the female being largely black with some white on the head. The wattled curassow: Males have a white underbelly, and large wattles, and the females have a brown underbelly and small wattles. The wattles of both sexes in this species are the same orange/red. This species is not found outside of the Americas, unless Antwerp still have their pair, or have moved it to another zoo.
their are a few couples curassows close to the zebras, i don't know if they are redbilled or wattled.
There were red billed (1.1), Yellow Knobbed (1.1) and Helmeted (1.0) in the aviaries near the zebras.
one off the couples had a young in 2007, i think the yellow knobbed. But i go to zoo antwerp over 2 weeks, i will search for them than.
