Your list is similar to what used to be at the San Diego Zoo/Wild Animal Park. Good luck getting your kouprey and Javan rhino. You might as well put the saola down too, on your list. If you happen to assemble this zoo for real, I will be one of your customers! You have some good stuff!

Yeah, that is a really great zoo idea, I would be a customer too, and I would salivate seeing many of these species in one place in one day
Also, how would you arrange the zoo ?, by taxonomy or by geography ?

For the bat-species, I would say that your groups are to small because they are known to live in large colonies and also a little mistake :
first you list that you want to have 10 Collared mangabeys, a little later you mention 6 Collared mangabeys in your list ??? :)
( China would earn good money on your zoo with no less that 4 Giant pandas ! )

This is pure imagination. But it would prefarably be situated in France or Germany. All the animals will be arranged taxonomically. I am doing a bird list now, but I have took many brakes in the process, so I will maybe not post it before a month or so.

Some of the bat groups are maybe a little small, but keep in mind that some of them are also very rare in captivity. I tried to have a broad represantation of bats with 12 species, most of them kept in captivity, since over 1800 species of bats exists.

Why not have 4 Giant pandas, they are a popular animal, I know they have a very expensive loan, but with a so popular animal, it would be a nice milking cow spending it on. This is as already stated just fantasy, but I think Mexico have some pandas that is not part of the China loan agreement too.

I have spotted the collared mangabey mistake, but it is unfortunately not possible to correct that now, so the number of mammal species will go down from 504, to 503. But in the end when and if I am finnished with the mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, inverts and fish lists I will maybe post a revised version with all the small changes I have done to my list.

Now I am finnished with the reptile list. All the reptile species will live in the Aquarium. The aquarium in the zoo will be similar to the aquarium in the Berlin Zoo. The first floor will mainly have saltwater fish and corrals. The second floor will have frshwater fishes. The third floor will have lizards, snakes (and tuatara). The fourth floor will house turtles, tortoises, and the crocodile hall with 15 species of crocodile and butterflies. The last fifth floor will have amphibians and invertebrates. The reason that the zoo will have quite few reptile species 214, compared to birds 635 species and mammals 504 species, is simply because there are fewer relatively common species of reptile kept in captivity (as proved by zootierliste) than mammals and birds. Amphibians are coming very soon !

Here finally is the fish list. The first floor of the aquarium in the zoo will have the saltwater fishes. The themes here will be: the saltwater fishes found outside northern Europe, the corral reef fish tanks and finnally the largest tank in Europe with whalesharks, many other shark species, manta rays and oacean sunfishes. The second floor will have six rooms with fish from each continent, first Europe, then Asia, then Africa, then Oacenia, then South and Central America, and finnaly North America. Most of the tanks here will be quite small since they are made for small fish species, but there will be some large mixed landscape aquaria, that probably will be the largest atracction here. The zoo will maybe have the largest catfish species collection of any zoo in the world. I have not yet counted how many individuals of fish I will have, but that is coming soon.

    My zoo
This is how my zoo will be set up. The zoo will mostly be divided taxonomically. The entrance you walk in to get in to the zoo, will be formed like a gate. Very similar to the entrance in Berlin Zoo. The first things you will see inside the zoo, will be a couple of fountains, sculptures and flowerbeds. You will also see the large restaurant, gift shop, and the aquarium that will be the first animal exhibit complex in the zoo.
    The aquarium:
Saltwater fish, corrals and sponges floor:
The aquarium will have five floors. The first floor will house the saltwater fishes, corrals and sponges. The saltwater section will have three themes. The first theme will hold the fishes that is living outside Scandinavia. The second theme will have all the corral reef fishes, corrals and sponges. And the last theme will be the giant oceanic tank, that will be the largest tank in Europe with whale sharks, many other sharks, turtles, rays, and several other fish species.

    The small mammal house:
The first building after the aquarium will be the small mammal house. The house will be divided into five taxonomical themes: rodents, rabbits, hares and pikas, insectivores, xenarthras and other small mammals. The house will have a very large small mammal collection, one of the largest in Europe. Most of the animals will be housed in glass terrariums inside. Some of the larger small mammals will also have an outdoor exhibit outside the house. The giant anteaters, capybaras, coypus and maras will be housed in the South American pampas enclosure. The beavers and aardvarks will be housed in the night house, so these small mammals would not be here either.

The zoo will have quite a large collection of bats, with 12 species. The only birds living in this house will be the kiwis. The two beaver species will live here too, because they often make bad displays in diurnal exhibits. In this building the beavers will have a large dam, with a viewing window, where the visitors can see them under water. All the primates will be housed in enclosures with glass windows on the inside, and enclosures with lots of ropes, trees and other forms of enrichment on the outside. The prosimians, and the other nocturnal primates will be kept in the night house, not here. The madras tree shrew will be the only non-primate in the house, as it is closely related to the primates.

    The elephant house:
The elephant house will hold both species of elephants in quite large groups. The house will be a mix of old and new, in the way that the house will look like an old elephant house with brick walls and an old feeling of it. But in a modern way, it will be split in two with a glass dome for each species. And the enclosures will be large and well suited in comparison to the old elephant houses where the public had more space than the elephants. All the outdoor enclosures will be large, well planted and with a water moat were they can swim. The bull elephants will have enclosures separated from the rest of the herd.

None of the animals here will have proper indoor enclosure, because they are pretty cold tolerant. But they will have small shelters to seek refuge in, in case of very harsh weather.
