Just looked this place up to see if it was still open and found that not only is it still there, it's expanded its exotic stocklist (Meerkats! Yay!) and (which I had no idea of when I was last there) it has a disused bear pit in the grounds. Will have to go back for another look sometime.
Nope, it didn't really focus on Nordic animals (the only animals I remember from there were peafowl, pheasans parrots and monkeys), and Skånes Djurpark is not really small (at least in area) as far as I know. It was more of a amusement park/big playground with some animals here and there. In bird-watching circles 8,000 species is the "gold standard" (and only a few have ever got there)..maybe for zoos it should be a thousand collections (and only two people have done that figure thus far).However as most zoochatters are young, and logistically the globe has shrunk (cue "carbon footprint"), it is more feasible than it has ever been...best of luck!
