Nagasaki Aquarium

    In Nagasaki there is Penguin Aquarium.
    ¿Was there other different Aquarium, in different place, in the past?

    Yes, in the past there was another aquarium in Nagasaki, which was founded April1st, 1959. In August 1959 they received 4 Chinstrap penguins, In 1961 3 Adelie and 7 Gentoo Penguins, in 1962 12 King Penguins and in March 30, 1964 2 Emperor Penguins. An September 2, 1965, the aquarium reports the hatch of a king penguin - a first for Japan (in 1970 already in the 2. Generation.
    According to the International Zoo Yearbook in 1972 the animal stock comprises:
    37 Mammals of 10 species
    95 Birds of 26 species
    36 Reptiles / Amphibians of 11 species
    2650 Fishes of 198 species
    On March 31,1998 the Nagasaki Aquarium was closed.
    On April 22, 2001 the Nagasaki Penguin Aquarium was opened.

    The old Aquarium: was it in the same place as the current Penguin Aquarium?
