New pallas cat enclosure opened. Idk what will happen to the old enclosures. https://youtu.be/ce9hMUSDpLc
A mother ptarmigan and 2.4 chicks have been transferred to the ptarmigan breeding center. The flock were raised in a protected area in the mountains. There’s also plans to collaborate with the nagano chasuyama zoo. But I don’t think google Chrome’s translator did a good job with the explanation.
The park is teasing a new crowd funding wich the sign has a picture of a tiger and a Japanese serrow.
I am absolutely obsessed with Japanese zoos, and I really want to plan a trip to Japan some time, especially because of how many shoebill storks they have (In walkthrough enclosures, no less) I think it's getting less response because there aren't that many Japanese ZooChatters
I did understand why people just don’t respond a bit later but I’d understand why people wouldn’t show interest to Japanese zoos, many of which are unknown and have collections more homogenized than American zoos.
The second crowdfunding project has started and here are the interesting projects: Obtaining Amur tigers and Japanese serrows A gamete bank Improving the sand cat exhibit
The park has been able to reach the 30 million yen goal. There’s still a stretch goal of 5 million yen for the gamete bank and stg activities.
The Crowd funding is over. Not only has the park achived the stretch goals, but they also achieved 6 million extra yen. I sure hope that the extra money is managed well.
I wasn’t able to tell which one of the kingdom parks the animals are from but one binturong and two cand cats are transferred to neo park okinawa
According to an announcement on the website, the animals transferred to NeoPark Okinawa are 0.2 Sadika and Mashriq. Female Hadiya is planned to be sent to Nagasaki BioPark. Their older sister Amira’s facility is not disclosed yet. The parents of the cats Sharif and Jameel will remain in the park.
Male tsushima leopard cat sago will be transferred from Higashiyama making nasu the 11th zoo in japan to hold the tsushima locale of the amur leopard cat.
2.1 sand cats are born and are being nursed by their mother. The upcoming amur tiger exhibit and the upgraded pallas cat habitat have got new names picked by the backers of the crowdfunding. The names are "Siberian Territory" for the tiger enclosure and "Manul Amalhan (a mongolian word that does not seem to be recognized in English)" for the manul enclosure
Not as interesting as a wild animal but the kingdom has obtained Valais Blacknose sheep ヴァレー・ブラックノーズが仲間入りしました : What's New : 那須どうぶつ王国 : 那須どうぶつ王国
Nasu animal kingdom will be receiving 1.0 Amur tiger named Ray/Rei from Akita City’s Omoriyama zoo. Rei will move out in May 14 this year.
