What collections hold platypus? I know of Taronga Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, Melbourne Zoo, David Fleay Wildlife Park and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Are there any more?
Australian Reptile Park and Platypus House, Beauty Point Tas. I think there was another park in Tas that was considering them.
no Bennett's in zoos currently, and Cairns Tropical Zoo didn't have them - that was entirely my error! Al posted a photo he took there in 2005 which I said was a Bennett's but it is actually a Lumholtz's (I thought it was too dark but I was just wrong). Like Chlidonias said, there are no Bennett's in captivity. I know of one that was raised by a carer in the Port Douglas/Mossman area in a last few years. I don't think Cairns Tropical Zoo ever had one. There was a large enclosure built for tree kangaroos, but it was never used for that purpose and last held cockatoos. Melbourne Zoo is the only zoo I know of that held Bennett's back in the late 1800s and early 1900s.

why do you think they are not wild? That page of their website is showing the native animals which may be seen on their property on night walks.
I thought they could possibly be contained in a fenced-off area which would raise the question if they are wild or semi-captive.
they are located in Hornsby Shire where long-nosed bandicoots are found naturally. There isn't anything on their website to suggest the bandicoots aren't just the usual wild ones.
All of the wildlife the come onto the property at Banana Cabana Primate Sanctuary are wild. They are native to the area. The only animals we have enclosed are the primates.
I visited David Fleay Wildlife Park today and I was able to talk to a keeper about some of their unusual mammals. The Julia Creek Dunnart is now dead and there are none in captivity so they won't be getting any more. Apparently they were being bred for release and one was kept for display which has now died. The Mahogany Gliders and Yellow-bellied Gliders are still at the collection, however they are now held off show. Their last Tree Kangaroo was put down a few months ago, she was very old, but they plan to get more later this year. They now have Fat-tailed Dunnarts. And they do still have both Proserpine Rock-wallaby and Bridled Nailtail Wallaby, and I was very pleased to see my first Platypus.
I visited Currumbin today. If they still have Fawn-footed Melomys they are not on show, and I was unable to ask a keeper to confirm. The Northern Brown Bandicoots are also either off show or no longer there. They have Australian Water Rats on show. They also have some birds that seem very unusual though there is no 'native birds' thread as far as I can see. I would probably be able to do on show species lists for both Currumbin and Fleay when I get back to Perth if there is interest?

As well as David Fleay and Currumbin, I should be able to do species lists for Lone Pine, and Birdworld, Australian Butterfly Sanctuary and Koala Gardens in Kuranda. The only zoo I have visited so far that I can't do a species list for is the Australian Venom Zoo as signage there was largely non-existent.
