Does anybody know if the zoo is planning on bringing in any new animals or making improvements in 2010?

From what ive heard heres the plans for the future, not necessarily 2010. firstly the old condor enclosure situated on the entrance drive has been increased in size roughly threefold to accomidate the macaws found near the car park. then that enclosure might have some lemurs in it. Also depending on the funds the new reptile house and aligator beach may start to be built ( a major new development that may take years to complete. From word of mouth ive also heard that the current camels enclosure will become a new childrens farm with the camels moving into one of the paddocks. then the childrens farm will become a keeper training area.

Im hoping that this yeah will see plans for a new gibbon enclosure possibly as the one now is rotten and old meaning poor jake shakes it to kingdom come when he goes off on one of his hissy fits :p

i take it you know about the new meerkat/ porcupine enclosure, the two new ostriches and also the new sea-eagles? fingers crossed the snowleopards will breed again.

An Orange Winged Amazon Parrot is being cared for at the zoo after being on the loose in Rhos on Sea for over two years! It was finally captured after falling down a chimney! I think they should call him or her Santa!(well what else comes down the Chimney!?) ;)

They are planning on keeping it at the zoo permanently :)

A new £3m tropical house is planned, including a new home for the zoos alligators.

A Red Panda called Ming Ming, (born in Chester Zoo) coming from Birmingham Nature Centre has been introduced this year to the female resident there. Ive seen pictures on flickr of him and he looks a bit stressed with the change of scenery, as well as meeting a new red for first time and sharing the enclosure with the otters.
