    CM inaugurates India’s largest fresh water aquarium at Birsa Munda Zoo

    Repeating his govt.’s priority to protect environment on the occasion of laying foundation stone and inaugurating fresh water aquarium at Birsa Munda Zoo in Ormanjhi, Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that development should be always ecologically healthy. Environment and people should complement each other.

    People of Jharkhand are environment lover. From time immemorial, India has been holding the beacon to show mankind the path ahead. Apart from protecting environment, it will boost up tourism also. He said that now the people will know Jharkhand for the largest aquarium. Different types of fish are kept in it.


    Mr. Das said that the govt. is promoting tourism. Forests can play an important role in climate change and maintain ecological balance. Ecological park will help in balancing environment.


    Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change Mr. Indu Sekhar Chaturvedi said that the aquarium in Bhagwan Birsa Munda Park is expanded in 36,000 sq feet. Nearly 1500 fish of 120 types have been put in 58 fish tanks. These fish are vegetarian, carnivorous and omnivorous. The eco park is being developed in 4.99 acre area with an expenditure of Rs. 5.67 cr.


    Ranchi MP R. T. Choudhary, Khijri MLA Ram Kumar Pahan and other important people were present on this occasion.
