Do any Zoochatters live in the vicinity of the Royal Ontario Museum? There is an exhibit about bloodsucking animals that runs through March 2020 that sounds very cool. It has live animals like lampreys, leeches, and mosquitoes and models and taxidermy of chupacabras and vampire bats.

If you go, would love a review of the exhibit. It sounds like a cool concept.

I will probably see this as well, seeing as I live in the area.

Was just looking for more information about this exhibition, and found a YouTube video that was released around its opening time. The most interesting thing I noticed was that, as well as live exhibitions of the leeches, mosquitos and sea lampreys mentioned earlier, there is also footage of an exhibit containing live ticks - something I have personally never seen before.

The video is included below, with the live ticks appearing around the 17-18 second mark:

These are the line animals I saw when I went

European Medicinal Leech - Hirudo verbana
North American Medicinal Leech - Macrobdella decora
Ornate Turtle Leech - Placobdella ornate

    Wood Tick
Yellow Fever Mosquito - Aedes aegypti

    Sea Lamprey Petromyzon marinus

There may have been another species of rock as well.
