Faunaland is building a new branch in Tanjung Lesung's Special Economic Zone (SEZ, Kawasan Ekonomi Khusus/KEK in Indonesian) under a contract with Jababeka Group and PT Banten West Java. The zoo will consist of two areas: Faunaland Kid Zoo and Faunaland Resort. The first area, Faunaland Kid Zoo will be a part of the Mongolian Culture Center that has been operating since 2016. It will be opened mid-December this year. This Faunaland branch will feature different animals from the main Ancol branch. Since it's built in the Mongolian Culture Center, I have a feeling that they might exhibit Bactrian camels and Demoiselle cranes since they're native to Mongolia. The second area is Faunaland Resort, a jungle-themed resort similar to Taman Safari's Mara River Safari Lodge with free-ranging animals as its main attraction. It is not known when it will be opened yet, but I'm guessing it could be opened around 2021-2023. The animals chosen for the resort will be the ones that can adapt with Tanjung Lesung's environment and climate, probably animals like Javan rusa or Binturong.
