Jaguars Temporarily Off Exhibit for Habitat Enhancements - Sacramento Zoo The zoo's jaguar exhibit is getting renovations, including the repair of the water features in the enclosure.
It appears the zoo may now have okapi. They have't made an official statement but today they've posted several incriminating photos on their Instagram that are obviously of an okapi. SacramentoZoo (@sacramentozoo) • Instagram photos and videos
Correction: The zoo DOES have okapi. Not only that but on their Instagram they announced that the exhibit opens next week (Feb. 15th)
I will go to the zoo as soon as I can to capture some photos of the okapi. I hope it's a good exhibit!
I haven't been to the Sacramento Zoo since 2001, but okapi may be a good reason to go for once, since I also haven't seen their "Small Wonders of Africa," new giraffe feeding area, and new otter habitat.
I'll be at the zoo tomorrow for "I Heart Sacramento Zoo" and although the okapis won't be on exhibit, I'll be able to take pictures of the new exhibit
Never mind, I'll actually be waiting a week or two so I can actually see the okapis (I don't know if you can tell from my profile picture, but I like okapis). Besides @Anteaterman took a nice picture of the exhibit already: Okapi Exhibit (Coming Soon) | ZooChat
According to the zoo's Instagram the okapis' names are Forest and Mo. Does anyone know from which facility they came from?
