A new species of Slow lori :
New species of cute, but venomous, primate discovered in Borneo
Thanks for sharing VC. Is this the first major change to primate taxonomy since Handbook of the Mammals of the World 3 came out?
They actually named three new species, N. kayan being a newly discovered lineage:
that is an article from 2012. Here are two other (2012) Zoochat threads on the subject:
http://www.zoochat.com/65/new-species-slow-loris-301176/ (the main one) and http://www.zoochat.com/2/new-venonous-species-slow-loris-found-301449/
The split is based on the facial markings and is pretty suspect.
The split is actually discussed in HMW3, if I recall rightly.
But not included in that volume?
I think it is included, actually. As I do not own a copy, having only read a library copy, I cannot check. It certainly does include a comprehensive split of Perodicticus potto though.
Separate names with a comma.
