2 male Red Pandas have arrived at Folly Farm. They are temporary housed in a quarantine enclosure (they are still visible) whilst their new home is being built.

    Hopefully a change of name.

Folly Farm seems an increasingly inappropriate name.

'Home for elderly sloths'? They'll be able to take it easy and relax in their twilight years, after running around like mad and working hard all their lives.....hang on, they're SLOTHS......! They've never actually done much anyway.

The zoo are currently building a new house in the Giraffe/Zebra/Nyala enclosure for the Sitatunga who will be eventually moving to from their current enclosure by the Rhinos. This will leave a big area for possible new plans or species.

Question for anyone who's been to Folly recently: According to the zoo's newest map, there's what appears to be a new deer species next to the red pandas and across the rhinos. Is this spot where the sitatungas were located? And what species could it be?

Latest news from Folly Farm after my recent visit on Saturday.

There appears to be a new Aviary on the side of the Giraffe house. It is still being built and I would guess it will house a variety of African birds. Also looks like a new house is built up ready for the Sitatunga to be moved to the Giraffe area.

Part of the Sitatunga enclosure is under renovation and looking at the map, it will be for an Asian Adventure but no idea on what species will be going there. The rest of the Sitatunga enclosure still houses them for now.

The African Spurred Tortoise enclosure has been completely renovated and is looking really nice with a brand new indoor area and larger outdoor area. Still some more work is to be done on it.

The Finch Aviary adjoining the Saki Monkey enclosure is complete empty and no signage anymore.

The African walkthrough Aviary is closed off and signs say closed for renovations. I did see some of the birds still inside.

Red Pandas are still in the temporary enclosure until their new enclosure will be complete.

New Café now open called "Hungry Farmer" next to Jolly's farm barn.

Folly Farm now has leopard cats (a mating pair and a pair of male and female cubs) located next to the ocelots until a permanent exhibit is built later this year in the new Asian Adventure zone. Their site doesn't say where they came from though.
Have you "spotted" our new arrivals?

Interesting tidbit, anyone have any more info on this? Or any idea on species/size/location within the zoo?

The Asian Adventure is on about half of the Sitatunga paddock next to the Cusimanse enclosure. It will likely feature the zoos Red Pandas, Leopard Cats and Reeves Muntjac, maybe something else too. I would imagine the rest of the Sitatunga paddock will be for more Asian species down the line.

Also new for this year will be a new Aviary connected onto the Giraffe house. Does anybody know what species will be kept in that?

Fantastic news but im surprised they've announced it as majority of Black rhino pregnancies are kept quiet. However still exciting news and everything x for a healthy pregnancy.
