Looking good. I'm glad they did it there because there is already a sort of treetop playground thing there, so it could be linked with it.

Would be interested to see how the outdoors will look. Hopefully as good as the Lemur Islands at Thoiry . The indoor doesn't look amazing but it is for two gorillas instead of a whole troop...
Two others are coming in the next weeks... but I read that it was the smaller of the two indoors we saw.

So the new gorilla complex opened today and we learn now that the gorillas live with golden-bellied mangabeys and patas monkeys.
After the Wisent reintroduction in Azerbaijan back in 2019, the zoo has received news that 3 calves were born to the reintroduced herd and they are thriving in their new habitat! Good news for the species and future reintroductions
While it is the first day of lockdown throughout France, Wazungu the silverback gorilla has entered his outdoor exhibit for the first time!
New video of the indoors and off-show area in the gorillas exhibit has been released : https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2792805514309834 We can see that there are two golden bellied mangabeys and three patas monkeys with the four gorillas.
I don't know if it was announced but Thoiry was able to reopen the safari part on Wednesday December 16th. Only the car part of course.
And for another time in France : Thoiry will open lodges in the north-american area of its safari. So people can sleep above the american black bears, artic wolves and bisons. From 150 euros per person ! Here some illustrations : And a video :
Great news from Thoiry : the park received april 27th 1.1 coyotes from Sainte Croix. They will live in the safari part in the american drive thru exhibit together with american bisons, artic wolves and american black bears.
