A female Mountain bongo has been born:

Baby bongo: Critically endangered antelope makes debut at Polish zoo

A baby mountain bongo, born two weeks ago at Warsaw Zoo in Poland, was enjoying one of its first walks outside with her mother on Thursday after a cold spell kept her indoors until now.

“They are difficult to breed (...) because of their character. We are the only zoo in Europe that keeps them in a pavilion open to visitors, and that’s because those antelopes are extremely timid,” said Sylwia Grodkowska, head of the ungulates section at the Warsaw zoo.

On the 17th of March a Kea (Nestor notabilis), the gender is still unknown but it was given the name Mango. I believe that the now has 4 keas: one breeding pair, 1-year old female and this young.

Ayana was born 11 August 2015, so not old at all. This is very sad and I just hope that male Jamir is OK, especially after all that's been happening to Snow Leopards in the States.

Zoo informed that Jamir, despite being in the same enclosure with Ayana, didn't have any symptoms. It is constantly under the control and care of vets.

Koklass Pheasant is in one of the low aviaries between emus and rhinos.

A pair of Blue-headed Quail Doves is on show in the Bird House, a species until recently absent from Europe.

Overall, the zoo gives impression of stagnation. Exhibits from the 1930s or 1990s, despite renovations, look increasingly minimum standard. Big contrast to the Orientarium in Lodz or Afrykarium in Wroclaw.

They just announced their plans for their 100 years anniversary. It's in 2028 I think.
    1. New monkey house (divided to South America / Africa / Asia) with the addition of tapirs, hipos and some antelopes.
    2. New polar bear exhibit (they have everything ready but the don't have where to transfer their 2 brothers).
    3. New co-building for lions and giraffes.

New enclosures for polar bears and monkeys have been discussed for over 25 years already, and probably before I was born.

Warsaw had so many unrealized zoo plans, that they deserve a separate thread. Part of the problem is the mayor of Warsaw, who often gives empty promises.
    - Moving the zoo, or a new safari park in the Kabaty suburbs
    - Native animal park with European bison and deer at Julinek, 30 km from the city
    - New aquarium at the zoo
    - New aquarium in Park Siekierkowski district
    - Expanding the bear pit in Park Praski to a large modern enclosure, like the bears in the city of Bern
    - New large enclosures for polar, brown and sloth bears near the zoo northern entrance
    - Many other single exhibits. Which end with renovation of old, small exhibits while about a third of the zoo is not developed
    - Unique moats filled with movable blocks, which would look like there is no barrier but sink when an animal steps on them.
Overall, it resembles the Fantasy Zoos section on Zoochat forum.
