Article about the olm and dinaric volhar at Zagreb Zoo : Zagreb Zoo only one in the world with two rare species | Croatia Week
I hope Olms will become more common in European zoos. Very good example of threatened European fauna.
Zagreb Zoo made many great improvements in the last years. Last photos from Zoo Zagreb were from 2008. So, I add fresh photos of new Olm, Balkan snow vole, Long-tailed field mouse (all new exhibits in 2020) and King Cobra (new exhibit in 2019) from my last visit in January this year. Excellent had things gone a little differently, I would have visited in March. Always the future, I suppose! I don't suppose you have any good photographs of the various native Croatian snakes held at the collection? Currently these are entirely absent from the gallery.
Yes, many plans have changed in the last months ... Croatian snake collection (in the same building as Olm, Balkan snow vole and field mouse) is really impressive. But I'm sorry, I don't have that photos.

Is someone here familiar with Zagreb Zoo? Are the balkan reptiles kept at outdoor exhibits or indoor? (Or in other words, do you need a warm, sunny day to have good chances to see them, or does the weather not matter as they are kept indoors). Are there any other informations that are good to know for a first visit?
Be careful that old, but excellent tropical have two parts: main hall (two entrances: red arrows) and there is also the additional place with pygmy hippopotamus, birds and reptiles (blue arrow). They have a nice self service restaurant which in inexpensive and serves much more than just hot dogs.
