Brilliant news about the Okapi birth .

The 2013 Hartmann's Mountain Zebra Studbook Report is available on the Marwell website . During a quick browse I found that unfortunately the foal born at Marwell last year died in January 2014 . The non-breeding stallion Bingo was euthanased in August 2013 .

In addition , the 2 stallions born 2012 at Paignton went to Landau .

The herds at Dvur Kralove (3) , Usti (4) and Sigean (3) all bred well in 2013 .

The male Okapi youngster is fine I saw him feeding from his mum,10 Flamingo eggs so far this year with one or two hatched lets hope they do better than last year when they lost them all.
