    Thats a huge shame, I take it that the olm is on your species to see list?

    Mind you, despite the frustration I'm sure there will be opportunities to visit Zagreb in the future and see it ;)

    Most people outside of Slovenia and without an interest in natural history probably have no idea just how unique the olm truly is.

    I saw the Postojna olms in 2018 - because a group of us wanted to go on holiday but no-one would decide where, so after a couple of evenings of circular debate in the pub I asked if we could go to Ljubljana because then we could do a day-trip to see the olms. It was the winning suggestion and olms were duly seen. :D
