I’m not quite sure. I don’t think they have it anymore.

That’s disappointing, but understandable, since they aren’t on the master plan. But what happened to the old sandhill crane exhibit?

It’s still there, but it’s now empty.

I’m guessing it would be either the blue & gold macaw they’ve had in the past, or possibly the sun parakeets they plan on getting. It also could be new sloths that they might have acquired for the South American wetlands.

You're probably right. I think that it would probably be macaws. The perches would probably be too wide for Sun Parakeets or sloths. Did you see anything there when you went @Wyman?

I actually didn't visit the zoo on Sunday due to IRL stuff, but I may visit later this week.

They started building the walls for the new animal care center! Construction will be done this summer.

The former guineafowl exhibit now has Toco Toucans! I figured that out from the winter visits page on their website. It lists Toco Toucans as an animal that is off-exhibit in cold weather.

They've had tocos in the waterfowl exhibit on each of my visits the last several years.

    Wow, really? I haven't seen them. I wonder what's in that exhibit then . . .

The website also mentions a box turtle.
Does anyone know what exhibit it's in?

I would assume that same exhibit, I can't think of any others that have ground to dig in that would also be safe.

If the turtle and toucans aren't in there, then maybe the turtle is in the aviary next to the Burrowing Owls and the toucans are in the empty exhibit? Also, it's weird that they took their whistling-ducks off-exhibit. I'm pretty sure they still have two males behind the scenes.

The zoo's breeding pair of Crowned Lemurs, Kipp and Sophie, have moved from an off-exhibit holding area to Madagascar holding and will be on exhibit as soon as temperatures warm up!!
