Another one I seem to have missed; Vedjar the Hybrid Orangutan at Wuppertal was PTS aged 43 on the 22nd of February due to some age related health issues Our Orang Utan-male Vedjar is dead. The animal had in the past few weeks, major health problems. Vedjar after it in the last few days getting worse and worse, he had to be euthanized the day before yesterday, finally. On the 27th of April, female Sumatran Orang-utan at Dortmund, Suma went into labour. After some complications the next day, they chose to perform a C-Section on Suma. Sadly, the baby (Which was a male) did not survive the procedure and died.
A Male Bornean Orang-utan was born at ZooParc de Beauval on the 6th of May to mum 'Janah' and dad 'Muda'. The baby has been named 'Kayan'
