The new exhibit called 'Jungle Temple' has opened for the Orangutans Buschi (Hybrid) and Astrid (Bornean) at Zoo Osnabruck. They share the enclosure with 3 Northern White-cheeked Gibbon.

How would we know when the centre themselves haven't even officially announced her death?

The 2 female Sumatrans at Wilhelma have moved to a new enclosure at the zoo's ape house. I believe it is the old gorilla nursery. They have stated that they plan to continue with Orangs into the future with a new orangutan house to be built in the next 15 years.

I believe Hsiao-Quai at Monkey World died in July this year?

    Just a quick update.

^ Edit: Just seen this has been mentioned!

Also, Silvestre, Bulu-Mata and Rieke are listed (1.2). Shouldn't it be (2.1) ;)

And Moscow Zoos Loren is now at Monkey World?

Pertanix did mention this earlier, if you see the updated list on page 3 of the thread where I have changed it.
Mimi (Loren) is indeed now at Monkey World. She is also mentioned on the updated list.

Jingga from Barcelona Zoo has moved to Blackpool Zoo. This will leave Barcelona with 2:4 (with the move of Sari to Dublin imminent) and Blackpool are now at 1:4.

    Here's a video of the move;

Nunak/Kwen the male Bornean at Usti has been euthanized after a deterioration in health. This leaves Usti with 1:2 and also leaves Europe with 2 wild-born males, these being Vladimir at Vienna and Tuan at Monkey World.

Forgot to mention Kevin from Apenhuel, so 3 wild-born males left. Although, Kevin has never had a surviving off-spring Vladimir has not had a surviving child for 13 years and Tuan has not bred since 2012.

Flora-Michael/Michelle the female Bornean has moved from Moscow Zoo to Novosibirsk Zoo. The hope is she will breed with one of Novosibirk's males called Batu.

October 21 from the Moscow Zoo in Novosibirsk for a permanent residence came the beautiful Michelle. This is a long-awaited event for our zoo. Bornean orangutans have been with us for nine years. In 2008, we received two males: Batu, born in the Czech Zoo, Dvur Kralove, and Zakhar from the Moscow Zoo. Given that in the wild, these primates are threatened with complete extinction, zoological parks make every effort to preserve the species. The creation of couples is of great importance.

The female Michelle is 8 years old. She is the sister to our male, Zakhar. Their mother's name is Lichana, she was born and lives in the Moscow Zoo. Zakhar was her first child, Michelle was the third child. Selecting couples, biologists, of course, took into account this fact, and it was decided that Michelle would make a pair of Batu.

Olga Shilo, Deputy Director for Science of the Novosibirsk Zoo, tells how Michelle moved to Novosibirsk, "The orangutans have strong social ties. If they live in a group, they are very attached to their relatives, to their mothers, brothers and sisters. In addition, orangutans get used to people who take care of them. We had the task of making sure that the stress of moving from the animal was minimal. We were preparing, working together with our Moscow colleagues. Our employee, Julia Konovalova, head of the department of tropical animals, went for Michelle. She visited the group in which this young female lived for two weeks. It was necessary that the orangutans used to and accepted the new man. An employee of the Moscow Zoo, in turn, accompanied Michel to Novosibirsk and spent several days here, which also had a beneficial effect on her behavior. "

Immediately after arrival, Michel was placed in an enclosure, located next to Batu, so that they could look at each other. Contact was established very quickly. Between the enclosures there is a small barred window. The male and female were already shaking hands on the second day of acquaintance. Batu, it seems, even treated something to Michelle. Seeing this attitude, on the fourth day we connected them. Now they are together.

Elsi was indeed kept with Niko and had 3 children with him before his death in 1980, these being Suma (M, b. 1970), Xempaka (F, b. 1975) and Bulu (M, b. 1979) with Suma and Xempaka living at Duist Zoo till their death in the 1990's and Bulu living at Touroparc until his death in 2013. Suma and Xempaka had one baby together at Duist Zoo called 'Job' who still resides at Duist Zoo today and Bulu siring 2 offspring, one with his own mother called 'Kupang' who passed away a year after his birth and another with one of the females at Touroparc. Elsi only ever had one pure Sumatran offspring which was actually the only one that died on the same day of its birth, this female was sired by current Gelsenkirchen male Schubbi.

I found no answer to this post, so I can help :)

Maia and Kila do not get along (at all, I recently had the chance to talk to one of their keepers). They tried to form a group. But in the end they decided to leave it like this. There's enough space available here. So both sisters now have a male companion. They're all fine.

Family 1: Budi (Chester) & Maia (Leipzig)
Family 2: Bagus (Berlin) & Kila (Leipzig) and little Ombak (born here on 04.03.2017)
Family 3: Vendel & Revital (both from Amnéville) and her daughter Ketawa (03.03.2013)

Regarding who the father of Ombak is - I don't have a clue (no confirmation from the zoo yet). All I know that Kila spent some time together with Vendel/Revital/Ketawa (that's what I saw with my own eyes). Apparently she also spent time with Budi.
