Pairi Daiza have confirmed that female Sumatran Orangutan Sinta is pregnant. The father is Gempa and will be the first off-spring for both parents.
Female Bornean Orangutan Dayang has now been moved to Osnabrück Zoo from Apenheul to be paired with male Damai. This brings Osnabrück to 1:2 Bornean and 1:0 Hybrids and leaves Apenheul with 4:6 Borneans.

Nonja, a Bornean Orangutan at Tierpark Schonbrunn sadly passed away due to kidney failure at the age of 40. Nonja lived at Vienna all her life after being born there to her parents Napoleon and Josephine. She was hand-reared by keepers at Vienna after her birth. Sadly, Nonja never had any offspring of her own. This leaves Vienna with 1:2.
Bornean Orangutan male born at Novosibrisk Zoo on the 21st of March to Jantan X Michelle. The father lives at Moscow Zoo, and is also the father of Michelle, who moved to Novosibrisk in October. The male has since been named 'Matiku' and is being hand-reared by keepers due to him suffering a fractured parietal bone which had to be operated on. Новосибирский зоопарк / Novosibirsk Zoo
Sumatran Orang-utan male 'Bruno' (also known as 'Bimbo') of Tierpark Hellabrunn was put to sleep at the age of 49 following a detrition in health. Bruno was born on the 18th of Febuary 1969 at Tierpark Hellabrunn, alongside his twin sister, called Hella, to parents Max and Kessy. Overtime, he became the breeding male at Tierpark Hellabrunn and went on to father 29 children, of which 11 are still in European zoos with 1 of his daughters also now living in America. He also has 6 grand-children spread across various zoos in Hungary, France and Germany.
Dublin Zoo will receive 8 year old male Bornean Orang-utan, Jin, from Monkey World within the next few weeks.
