Not a big deal, but Packy's birthday was yesterday. Also, from the zoo's Facebook: "Female 147 has laid her first egg in the wild! This female California condor was released in the wilds of Southern California last year after a decade-long residency at the Oregon Zoo's Jonsson Center for Wildlife Conservation. Authorities have confirmed that her egg is fertile and in good condition."

Tests came back positive after the annual check-up. Hopefully the zoo will be able to treat it (I have no idea how curable it is to 100% eradicate it). And hopefully Samudra and Lily do not get TB as well. I'd like to know how that happened. Anyone who volunteers, even for a day, with the elephants are supposed to get TB shots.

- Thank god. The zoo has been talking about this exhibit for years. The bad thing is I heard that the exhibit will be phased. This is due to the area zoned for the northern yard being used as a construction staging area for other projects such as the polar bear exhibit. I think the barn will be the 1st part completed.
The Wildlife LIVE Birds of the World shows have started up today. Showtimes are 11:00, 12:30 and 2 with a 3:30 time to see some of the birds on the stage. Shows will be everyday, except for concerts where they'll bring the birds out on stage 2 times a day and weather dependent. They have a few new birds to their show including a milky eagle owl, a toco toucan and a new bald eagle.
