I'm curious to see if any of the projects will be completed on time. I thought that the Predators and Red Ape Reserve exhibits were delayed at some point. Can't wait for condors!!!

Odd bit of news for you, human remains have been found at the zoo while construction was being done. They are very old and likely belong to members of a family that had a farm on the site long before the zoo. The Zoo Train will be temporarily out of service until winter of 2014 while a new train route is being constructed. The train isn't going away permanently (some people think that). Just no rides for a while. All aboard! Last chance to ride zoo train until 2014 Hopefully this is one construction date they'll keep to. It seems to be that they're usually delayed with the predicted opening of some exhibits. I'm sure a ton of visitors will be furious if they don't have a train till 2015.

More lion cub news. The cubs and mom get to go out into the exhibit space for short periods of time. Visitors that are LUCKY enough to be at the zoo at the right time can see them if the temperature outside is higher than 55. There's not a set schedule for the cubs and their public debut may not be till the weather gets a lot nicer. I should be visiting Portland soon, and with my luck it will most likely be raining for my entire visit. Because that's usually the way it goes. Here's a video of the kids playing in the exhibit.
