It's always a shame to lose an elephant. But for one so loved as Packy, it must be absolutely heartbreaking for the millions of people who seen and worked with him.

How terrible and tragic. To add insult to injury, the IDA is going rip the zoo to shreds with none stop biased comments.

I can guarantee you they will say the zoo murdered him.

It's hard to believe that less then 2 years ago the zoo has 4 bulls in it's care... and now their down to 1, Samudra.

Packy lived a great life and I didn't want him to suffer so it was probably the right thing. I'm glad he lived to see the new exhibit.

I'd love to know who their "anonymous sources" are. Or at least, who they're supposed to be :p

For some reason I have a feeling the elephant activists from Seattle are going to blow this up.

'From the zoos youtube channel' A tribute to Packy.

Oh, and if you read the comment section, "President Obama" said some very "flattering" stuff about the Oregon zoo... like... multiple times .

Sad news for sure, I hope her treatment will be effective. If I'm correct she's one of if not the last offspring of Packy.

She is indeed the sole living offspring from the magnificent bull, sadly.
